Our goal at Direct Pack is to set the standard for sustainable, high-quality packaging solutions for all kinds of food applications. Recently, we achieved a new milestone: both our manufacturing plants in Mexico—Direct Pack de México (DPM) and Direct Pack Baja (DPB)—have been awarded the BRCGS Packaging Materials Certification. This recognition highlights our commitment to producing safe, high-quality packaging that meets the highest global standards, benefitting both our customers and the environment.

The BRCGS Packaging Materials Certification is a globally recognized standard for safety, quality, and compliance across the packaging supply chain, developed by the British Retail Consortium Global Standards. It provides a framework for packaging manufacturers to produce safe, reliable materials and meet customers’ expectations for quality and regulatory compliance.

Certification under BRCGS is valued by brand owners, retailers, and manufacturers worldwide, as it validates a supplier’s commitment to high-quality production standards and consumer safety. This is especially crucial in the food packaging industry, where protecting consumers and upholding brand reputation are extremely important.

DPM and DPB were evaluated in several categories: senior management commitment, hazard analysis and risk assessment plan management, product safety and quality management system, site standards, product and process control, and personnel. Both facilities received an ‘A’ grade under the standard criteria developed by BRCGS.

DPM and DPB are essential thermoforming and extrusion facilities that specialize in producing sustainable packaging solutions quickly and efficiently. Together with Direct Pack Recycling (DPR) in Mexicali, our Mexico operations are a part of our full circle model that maximizes the use of post-consumer recycled PET (rPET) bottles and containers.

Achieving BRCGS certification has elevated our manufacturing capabilities at DPM and DPB by ensuring that every piece of packaging material meets high quality and safety standards. It also reinforces our commitment to international regulatory compliance, strengthening our ability to provide safe, consistent, and reliable products across markets.
