Direct Pack continues to take cars off the road – not literally, but through the greenhouse gas impact saving that comes from using post-consumer recycled PET (rPET) in our BOTTLEBOX® containers. Compared to using virgin PET plastic, our products saved 7.1 million pounds of CO2 from the atmosphere in the third quarter of 2018. That is equivalent to taking 740 cars off the road, or powering 926 homes with electricity for a year.
Since we started measuring our rPET use in 2011, we have used 4.4 billion bottles and saved 117 million pounds of CO2 equivalent. We are grateful for all the support we are getting from our customers and partners. Together we are making a sustainable difference for the environment!
