PET Food Packaging Thermoformer DPI Invests in Southern California

SUN VALLEY, CA–(Marketwire – Jul 18, 2011) – PET food packaging thermoformer Direct Pack, Inc. has substantially increased their manufacturing platform in Sun Valley, CA in order to further support their growing base of customers. Earlier this year, DPI opened a main distribution center in Azusa, CA. The expansion in Southern California has already created 20 jobs and another 20-25 positions are expected within the next six months.

Division President Craig Snedden reports, “We are continuously staying informed of the ever changing needs of our customer base, and make our investment decisions accordingly. The thermoforming equipment and tooling perspectives for food packaging are changing at lightning speeds, and price points are crucial. With our state-of-the-art production facility, we can make sure to service our customers with a package that fits their exact needs to enhance the sales of their fresh food products.”

Investing in extrusion, thermoforming and material handling equipment, DPI is further increasing its capacity and speed to market. In addition to customized food service packaging, the expansion in Sun Valley, CA includes an extensive line of fresh produce packaging, engineered to meet the needs of the growing Californian agricultural market. The equipment will also be suitable for manufacturing of DPI’s unique BOTTLEBOX ® line of containers — made of 100% recycled post consumer PET bottles.

Snedden adds, “This announcement is an affirmation that in addition to creating jobs in Southern California, we are truly committed to support our customers and their changing packaging needs with innovative and sustainable solutions.”
